ACCESSIBILITY STATEMENT

Last updated: 26 May 2026

1. Our commitment

Saolful is committed to making our website, our events and our communications as accessible and welcoming as possible to people of all abilities. Accessibility is a core part of how we think about Saolful — it is not a separate exercise.

2. Standards

We aim to meet the requirements of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA across the Saolful website at www.saolful.com.

3. Measures we take

To support digital accessibility, we work to ensure:

  • text is legible, with sufficient size and colour contrast;

  • the website is fully navigable by keyboard;

  • images that convey information include descriptive alternative text;

  • forms include clear labels and accessible error messages;

  • video and audio content includes captions and transcripts where reasonably practicable;

  • motion and animation respect users’ “reduced motion” system settings;

  • page structure uses correct semantic HTML headings and landmarks; and

  • our content is written in plain English wherever possible.

4. Known limitations

As a small, independent organisation we are continually working to improve accessibility. We are aware that some areas may not yet fully meet our target standard, including:

  • certain older Substack posts may not have alternative text on all images;

  • some embedded third-party content (such as ticketing widgets or social media embeds) is subject to those platforms’ accessibility levels and may not meet WCAG 2.1 AA; and

  • certain decorative typographic treatments may render less clearly to assistive technologies.

We are working to address these limitations over time and welcome feedback.

5. Accessibility at Saolful events

Saolful events take place at venues we partner with, and venue accessibility may vary between events. For each event we will publish accessibility information on the event page where available, including:

  • step-free access (where available);

  • accessible toilets (where available);

  • proximity to public transport;

  • whether assistance animals are welcome; and

  • any sensory considerations (lighting, sound levels).

If you have specific access needs or questions about a particular event, please contact us at info@saolful.com at least 48 hours before the event where possible, and we will do our best to support your participation.

6. Feedback

We welcome feedback on the accessibility of our website, our events and our communications. If you encounter an accessibility barrier, or have a suggestion for how we can improve, please contact:

Email: info@saolful.com

Subject line: “Accessibility feedback”

We aim to respond to accessibility feedback within five business days.

7. Formal complaints

If you are not satisfied with our response to your accessibility feedback, you may make a complaint to:

  • the Australian Human Rights Commission (www.humanrights.gov.au), in relation to disability discrimination; or

  • the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (www.oaic.gov.au), in relation to accessibility of information.

8. Review

This Accessibility Statement is reviewed and updated at least annually, and whenever we make significant changes to the Website. It was last updated on the date shown at the top of this document.
